Salvage Station
Any list of Asheville’s local music hotspots has to include Salvage Station. Voted “Asheville’s best place to catch live music” and “#1 outdoor music venue,” Salvage Station on the river is a great place to hear tunes, have a drink with friends, and catch a meal. Try the crawfish Rangoon with pepper jelly or get in on the fried brussels sprouts, Kimcheez Slider, or a serving of Uptown Wangs. There’s cold beer, hot music, and absolutely no reason not to get in on the action. On their site, you can see a list of who’s in town, get your tickets, and party the night away. Find Salvage Station at 468 Riverside Drive.

The Orange Peel
The Orange Peel is a great Asheville venue for live music. A quick look at their archives from past performances shows an incredible range of styles and tastes. It’s no wonder The Orange Peel has racked up a lot of awards! It’s also been featured in outlets such as USA Today, Travel and Leisure, Southern Living Magazine, and Rolling Stone. Legends like Dylan and Marley have played here, and it’s a great venue for up-and-coming talent. You can find The Orange Peel at 101 Biltmore Avenue.
Thankfully, the awesome Orange Peel venue isn’t the end of the story with this place. When Orange Peel events and Asheville Brewing Company teamed up on a new project downtown, the result was another fantastic venture: Rabbit Rabbit. This rockin’ venue’s name comes from a superstition that saying “rabbit rabbit” can bring you good luck. Now, it hosts up-and-comers as well as established performers like Fitz and the Tantrums and Bon Iver.
At Rabbit Rabbit, you can get fresh music as well as fresh tacos, burritos, nachos, chips, and guac. You can also enjoy a Thumper (vodka, lemonade, strawberry puree), Irish hot cocoa, or a cool and refreshing ale or porter. You can find Rabbit Rabbit at 75 Coxe Avenue right in the heart of Downtown Asheville.
Asheville Music Hall
A beating heart in the heart of Downtown Asheville, this spot opened in 2011 and has become one of the most popular mid-sized venues around. Acts such as Ghostface Killah have been on the stage, but up-and-coming acts find their voice there all the time. One Stop at Asheville Music Hall has become a local hangout with affordable food and drinks for everyone. Start off with a basket of fries or some savory hummus, then build your own pizza or enjoy some spicy wings. Good music, good food, great location. It’s a perfect night! You can find the Asheville Music Hall and One Stop at 31 Patton Avenue, not far from any of our rentals in downtown Asheville.
Isis Music Hall
In the heart of West Asheville was a theater built in 1937. It showed its last film in 1957 but was renovated to become a great place to have a meal and rock out with over 400 people. It’s a family business run by a family that loves good music and good food, and it’s the people of Asheville and lucky visitors that benefit now. An intimate lounge brings back a 1930s vibe and hosts music almost nightly. It was the old projection room, but now it’s a great place to gather. There’s only room for 50, so you’ll want to plan ahead if you want in on the fun. Reservations are recommended.
The patio area overlooks a green space on Haywood Road, and pets are also welcome to enjoy. There’s a lawn stage where acts will sometimes play, including free lawn concerts. The main stage hosts the biggest acts and has a bar and restaurant. Local and regional bands have called it home. Whether you like jazz, Celtic, bluegrass, or more, it’s here. The Isis menu features everything from pork rinds and hot tamale pie to chicken fricassee, Mississippi catfish, and bread pudding. Get your food and your rhythm on at 743 Haywood Road.

Asheville’s longest-running all ages venue, it’s hosted over 10,000 bands and artists, including local acts that bring guests out to the dance floor. While you’re loving the music, you can get in on some great grub at the Grey Eagle Taqueria. The basic chips and salsa are sure to satisfy, but you may want to splurge on the sweet plantains.
